Sophi loved running with her pack but there were times you needed to be alone. This was one of those times. She knew the influx of wolves in Colorado Springs would bring hunters. Even some of the local nutjobs had started to notice. It had resulted in Rush getting shot with silver once already. She loved her family, her pack, and she wasn't going to be taking any chances. It was bad enough that they might have lost her alpha had she not paid close attention when her mother taught her how to retrieve a bullet.
Not taking any chances meant that Sophi was walking the boundaries of their lands herself. She knew how to spot a hunter a mile away. She was raised by them, knew how to spot one. She also wanted to familiarize herself with her new boundaries. There were rogues still coming and going through the area and while she had met one or two in her time that weren't batshit crazy and blood thirsty she still had a fear of most. They posed a problem for her peaceful way of life. A rogue running around not being careful or even being crazed and rabid was sure to get someone killed.
Sophi moved through the forest like a shadow. Her dark fur giving her a slight advantage but years of stealth training also helped. She had always been light on her feet and being on four legs rather than two didn't change that.
