Who: Rachel and OPEN What: some alone time When: Friday night late/possibly early Saturday Where: Colorado Springs territory Status: incomplete
Rachle slipped off from the pack after having spent a good portion of the night with them. It wasn't that she didn't want to be with her brethren. She needed some time alone under the moon with the wind filling her nose, pushing through her fur. She hoped it would help clear her head, maybe even be some sort of balm for the places that hurt inside. This wasn't the first time she had done this since Zach had died. It probably wouldn't be the last. Had it helped any thus far? She couldn't tell. Especially now.
She stuck to the shadows making use of her stealth and agility to keep from being seen. There wasn't anything she could do about the trail she was leaving both scent and visual, but she wasn't really trying either. If Trey or the pack went looking for her she didn't want it to seem like she was abandoning them, hiding. She wouldn't avoid them on her worst day and this was far from it, even if she had been hiding in her room when she wasn't required to be somewhere the past few days.
There was plenty of wild area in the territory they'd been given, and soon she found herself at an outcropping of rock. Tilting her head this way and that she took in the area sight, sound and scent to make sure no one else was here. The last thing she wanted to do was frighten a trysting couple of humans just out looking for some fun under the bright moon. Judging the area all hers she sighed and turned her nose to the sky, looking at the moon almost wistfully. It was beautiful, and the sight made those wounded spots inside ache with remembering many moons when she hadn't been alone. It was enough to tease a small whine from her which soon became a low croon. She let that pain inside build until she felt near bursting with it, then tilted her head back entirely to give it song, releasing it in a soul filled howl until she ran out of breath. Then she did it again. And again, until she felt spent. When she was finished she whined again and lay down on the rock with her chin on her paws.
