Who: MJ and Carol What: "Dragging" Carol around Diagon Ally for some shopping When: Tuesday, Aug 26 Where: Diagon Alley Status: ongoing
Diagon Alley had to be one of Carol’s favorite places to go in London. Mary was easily her favorite person and pretending to not enjoy being pulled to and fro by the girl was a common hobby. All of these positive aspects tossed into one day made an exciting thought to say the least. Granted large crowds did make her nervous as did not knowing exactly what was going to happen but she was going to make do. She never knew what was going to happen when it came to Mary so it was no different that their random escapades at school. Not to mention that this was the first time she was allowed to go out of Nottingham without her parents around or Sarah Beth. That in itself was a cause for celebration.
Regardless of the excitement, sitting just outside of the Leaky Cauldron at a small bench with The Daily Prophet in hand was far from fun. The problem with coming here alone was that she had to get on the train and when the train’s arrival was a good hour before the set time for their meeting… self explanatory and it left Carol bored. The Prophet had been tucked inside of her bag safely to keep it from wandering eyes in Muggle areas- that was where she read the gossip magazines she put down more often than not. Pretending to care about so and so’s marriage and then divorce from what’s her face was not good reading material. It was like using a drill on a temple to drain the evil- pointless and painful. The magic world had actual information worth looking at; especially the St. Mungo’s even that the Ravenclaw could only wish to attend. Not only would it be impossible because of her living in Nottingham but she did not have that kind of money to her own name. Maybe next year…?
As she read, Carol could feel her new, black thick frames slip slowly down her nose. In one motion she pushed them up and her mousy brown hair back. Her feet swung as they attempted to touch the ground below her in a childish manner. With the turn of the page, the girl brought her left hand to her face, front teeth picking away at her forefinger’s nail.
