Had he really said that? Yes, he hadn't misheard himself. Those words had indeed come out of his mouth. Did he mean to say that? That was the real question at hand, and he knew he only had a second or two to decide.
They'd talked about this once before, but never again afterward. Reed had said he'd wanted to try it sometime, and Emerson agreed to it. That was about as far as it went. He knew from Reed talking about prior experiences that he hadn't had a good one when it came to doing, well, that. Emerson liked it, but that was him, not Reed. He could see the somewhat stunned look on his lover's face, which probably mirrored his own. Realization hit him again; he did want to try it. But did Reed still want it? Was he in shock just because it was something Emerson had never pushed before, or because he'd changed his mind and had no desire to do it now?
"I-I mean.. I.." he looked down. He wasn't going to pretend to correct himself. Emerson had just promised Reed days before that he wasn't going to hide things from him. But he also didn't want to make Reed feel like he had to do something he wasn't interested in. "Forget it," he said, smiling and shaking his head, and leaning in to kiss his lips and start moving their bodies together again.
