Emerson's hands had unclenched from the fabric of his cloak, and he listened as she expressed her fears and worries over the situation. They were valid. It was very likely that upon seeing Fionn, her emotions would come out full force -- especially after being repressed for so long. Though he couldn't help but wonder if that really was such a bad thing. It was fair for her to get upset with him, and it would be her being completely honest about her feelings. He kept that thought to himself, however, as it would be awfully hypocritical of him to say that when he couldn't even do that with Reed. "A little self-reflection might not hurt, then," he said. "However, don't talk yourself out of being honest. That wouldn't be fair to either of you."
He shook his head again. "Friendships are very important. The time you spend with Reed is special, to both of you. It's very vital that you do have that time together, so that you aren't closed off completely. And I know Reed cares a lot about you. I'm sure he wants to help as much as he can. I hope I can help you, too."
