He could almost feel her relaxing a little in his presence, which made it a little easier for him not to feel quite so on edge. Emerson shifted his gaze back in front of him so she wouldn't feel any pressure from having eyes upon her while she spoke. He knew the feeling of being watched could sometimes be a little intimidating.
"There is nothing strange about craving human contact," he said calmly, keeping his gaze forward. "We are social creatures by nature. Most of us, anyway. Everyone needs to feel that connection sometimes." He was currently really missing that connection.
"I am sorry for any struggles you have gone through. Especially if I've kept Reed from being as readily available as you might have needed for comfort. I know he spends quite a bit of his time with me." At least, he did.
