Emerson made no move to stop his tears. He thought it was very necessary for Reed to cry until he had released that emotion to its extent. Otherwise there would be left over tension and pain that Reed would no doubt bury inside himself only to have it surface later in a more painful way.
For the second time he heard the confession of love, and Emerson closed his eyes and drew him in closer. He'd felt fairly confident that Reed loved him, just from his actions and the meaning behind certain words he had said in the past. But hearing it was something else entirely. Two tears managed to spill from his closed eyes. "I love you so much," he whispered, kissing his forehead again and holding him tight.
