Adel had not been joking when she said she wanted to stay in bed. There were too many emotions running through her, more than she could handle at the moment. So instead of dealing with them, she decided to just sleep it off. She had tried to make a journal entry, to express some of her sentiments across through written word, but she had only been able to make a rather large ink spot in the journal instead. When she tried to think of how to express herself, she was only able to come out with that one line, but it was enough.
No one seemed to understand Adelaide. They saw her trying to define herself by other standards, other people. They didn't see that she was trying to continue being who she was, who she always was. But now she questioned because the one person that had helped her come into her own was a liar and a cheat and...
She didn't want to think about it. She wanted to become completely numb, to get over the heartache before moving forward. She didn't know how long that was going to be, but she wanted to try. Until Merle insisted she come by his hut. And how could she say no to him? Well, she had tried but it hadn't really worked out.
She trudged over to his hut, her hair a complete mess, bags under her eyes and a shawl wrapped around her shoulders. Had she mentioned that she just didn't care anymore? Yeah, she didn't care anymore.
When she arrived, she just leaned her head against the door, a small thud as her head met the wood. "I'm here," she called out. "Merle, let me in so I can lay down." If she couldn't lay down in her own bed, she'd take one of his.
