Whew! Finally got a chance to read this, and what a sweet story. :) Thank you especially for the character development. Watching Ron develop and mature was lovely, and I liked considering a Hermione that released the mantle of maturity and the pressures she was under that last year and returning to school and just focusing on being a young woman in love. Nicely done.
Note, I'm not a fan of the canon pairings, but I could believe this Ron/Hermione reflecting a very young relationship just getting off the ground. I especially liked how they related to one another and were able to read each other so well, just the way one would expect of a couple who began as friends first.
Poor Snape -- it was very poignant to think of his silent suffering after all he'd gone through, especially the time Ron realised he had been left alone with no one to talk to and nothing to see all day. The interactions between them as they slowly came to an understanding of one another were great to see, as were the interactions between Snape and Hermione. The meeting of the minds he has with her vs. the meeting of will he has with Ron were both nicely done and I appreciated the lack of angst that Ron normally displays in fics where he feels he is not smart enough. It is clear he feels more than equal to either here, and also protective, which is very Ron.
I enjoyed the first time smut and the way they allowed Snape his dignity despite his predicament. In all, I liked my gift very much.
