*Another here from lj, following a fic recommendation trail* Gosh, I read this fic earlier today and then it kinda haunted me all day ... I loved the way you offered Tonks the possibility of Remus alive, but it came at the cost of Teddy dead. What mother would choose that reality? I was impressed by the sensitive and tender relationship you developed between Tonks and Snape, and how it contrasted with her relationship with Remus (or the relationship she might have had ... interesting that in both realities, she had a fling withe Percy, heh heh). And could she have chosen a reality in which neither she nor either of the men she had loved were alive, but her son had grown up in peacetime? Even if it meant that her other son would not even exist? You did an excellent job of winding together so many complex evolutions of each character's fate, but ultimately presenting us with a very canon-friendly conclusion: in order for Harry to win and for Voldemort to be defeated, certain characters did need to die in the battle, and their survival would have destroyed the happy ending which JKR gives us. (Although we all agree that it's a crying shame that Remus, Tonks and even Snape had to bite the dust!) You did an amazing job with this fic. Very cool. :) Helen/Nell http://nell-aria.livejournal.com/
