Lavender paused, spoon midway to her mouth, at the sound of her name. She'd know that snide tone anywhere. Bugger, she thought to herself and set her spoon down. She wiped at her mouth with her napkin, no need to give the girl any more fodder than she likely had, and pasted a polite smile on her face.
"Pansy, I didn't hear you come in." Lavender hadn't seen much of the girl over the summer, but knew about her parents being killed. Lavender's mum was quite beside herself at the news. "I didn't expect anyone else down here at this hour."
