WHO: Cassius and Sabine WHERE: Wizengamot Library WHEN: Monday, late morning WHAT: After bantering in the journals, they meet face to face
With spring came not only budding flowers and baby animals, but seasonal colds and coughs. So although Sabine didn't usually work on a Monday, she agreed to come in when the chief Librarian and two other clerks were struck down. Since her work for the launch was almost complete, she could spare the time and with practically no one else around, her work was minimal and it was fine to do a little personal reading of her own. She also loved being in the library itself, surrounded by thousands of books ranging from the ancient to the new, all of which begged to be devoured, inhaling the scent of paper and wood, touching the old shelves and listening to the sound of pages being turned.
Having shelved some books, Sabine perched on the top of the ladder used to peruse the highest shelves. As usual, she was dressed in her 'uniform', a long deep blue skirt and white blouse with her waist defined by a wide, almost corset-like, belt and her hair pinned up. Of course, being Sabine, even though she could have just purchased the outfit, she made it herself and added touches so that while she was dressed like the other female library clerks, she was also different and that never failed to please her.
At the moment the skirt hung down, draped along the steps of the ladder and strands of hair curled against pale cheeks as she leafed through a book on mythology. She was so absorbed that she didn't register the sound of footsteps as someone entered the library.
