There was no reason to be nervous her either, Cho reminded herself as she stood outside Mrs. Chambers' office door. Bernadette was a reasonable, nice woman, despite what everyone else thought about it her. Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand and knocked on the door, though part of her still hoped it was too soft for her to hear.
Bernadette was reading over some of the transcripts that had been delivered to her the previous month, making notations in a thick black journal when she vaguely registered the sound of a knock on her office door. Slipping the transcripts into the inner pocket of the journal, she put the protective charms back on it and placed it into a drawer at the bottom of her desk. "Come in," she called, locking the drawer with her wand as she issued the command.
"It's just me," Cho said, stepping into the office. "Do you have a moment?"
Glancing up, Bernadette took in Cho's unusually formal attire, arching an eyebrow and gesturing at the seat across from her. "Of course, what can I do for you?"
Cho took the seat across from Bernadette and made sure to smooth out every wrinkle before looking back up. "I have a problem I thought you could help me with."
"Of course, dear, just name it," Bernadette told her, folding her hands in front of her. She hadn't had a chance to talk with Cho since the night of initiation, and the business of this marriage contract with her son had been weighing heavily on her. But if Cho had a problem, Bernadette was certainly going to do anything in her power to assist. And perhaps find something more out in the process.
"When Quinn and I were younger, we made this pact," Cho said. "It was stupid, but it's binding."
Well, this was going to be easier than she'd originally thought. Bernadette smiled, a small one, but one she hoped passed as comforting. "Your marriage contract, yes. Go on."
