Who: Stephen and open to Hogwarts peeps (esp Saffron, Vee etc) Where: Classroom two (empty), first floor, Hogwarts When: After dinner, 1 April What: Music and food make a good combination
Having tuned his violin to his satisfaction, Stephen checked the bridge to ensure it was standing straight and centred. Noting all was correct, he placed the instrument on his left shoulder, nestling his chin in the rest, and then drew the bow slowly across the strings as he began the warm up.
Playing in one of the empty classrooms was common for Stephen, almost as much as how often he went down to the kitchens. Perhaps it was a little antisocial, since not many people would object too strongly to him playing in the common room, but he found the constant buzz there to be very distracting and made it difficult for him to listen properly to the notes. Besides, he would rather not play for a large audience, even if they were his housemates.
Warm up complete, he shifted into a slow, gentle melody, glancing up occasionally to look at the door. On the desk next to him was a covered plate which contained freshly baked mini treacle tarts. Stephen wasn't too concerned by Saffron's reaction to his teasing, he wasn't even that curious about the lists her grandmother had made for her and Victoria, but he did like people to appreciate what he made so he hoped she would show up.
