Dinner - A Toast
Now that everyone had arrived, Marietta decided it was time to treat them all to the dinner she'd gotten the caterers to prepare. Chicken cordon bleu and fettucine primavera awaited everyone at the dining room table she'd enlarged for this very occasion.
"Dinner is served, everyone!" she announced, directing everyone to their respective seats, which were marked with elegant little place cards. She'd been careful about how she laid things out: Roger was, of course, at the head of the table, and she was to his left. At the opposite end of the table was Oliver, who was given the next most important seat; it was only right that the captain of Puddlemere should sit facing his new teammate, and both were the heroes of the day, having won their match so soundly the day before.
Mari had strategically placed Cho to Oliver's left, too, so she and Roger would be afforded a good angle from which to watch the twosome's body language throughout dinner. They were still trying to figure out what was going on between the pair.
Next to Cho was Quinn, and then Hannah, of course, which meant that Marietta and Hannah were across from one another. On the off chance Roger brought up the subject of that day when Mari had been "sick", she wanted Hannah close by to fill in any gaps she might need to fudge.
Finally, sitting next to Marietta was Katie, which put George to Oliver's right. This would no doubt provide a great deal of entertainment, and since dinner theatre was always fun, Mari was looking forward to their amusing banter.
The plates, napkins and drinks were all enchanted to mimic Puddlemere's colours, and the rings on each napkin featured miniature Firebolts. Boys may not have much idea about throwing a good theme dinner party, but she knew they would at least get a kick out the little details.
The lavish spread sat before them, and Marietta waited for everyone else to sit; she then stayed standing just long enough to raise her glass of shimmery blue champagne. "Thank you all for coming! Cheers to Roger, who ought to be very proud, and a toast to Oliver as well, for leading Puddlemere to victory!"
