Hannah grinned. "A pretty good one, too, for someone else. Maybe Aunt Lucy. That's practically what she does already." She readjusted the way she held the baby. "Did you know that Aunt Lucy and Mrs. Chambers were friends?"
"Not specifically," Cho said, glancing up at Hannah. "It doesn't surprise me that much, but how do you know?"
"When we went to dinner with them, she asked after Lucy, and asked me to pass along a message to her," Hannah said. "I guess it shouldn't be that surprising, but I hadn't ever considered that. She's never talked about her before." She bit her lip. "You like her, right? Mrs. Chambers, I mean. Everyone likes Aunt Lucy."
"I do," Cho said firmly, moving on to the next baby's crib. "She's just hard to get used to. She's a good person, and she loves Quinn."
Hannah followed her, gently shifting the baby again. "Do you...do you trust her?"
Cho looked up again. "Yes," she said. "Sometimes she gives bad advice, but she means well."
Hannah was silent for a moment, her gaze focused somewhere beyond the crown of the baby's head. "What kind of bad advice?" she finally asked.
Now cradling a baby boy, Cho said, "Just that I should marry wealthy and keep Oliver on the side."
Hannah's eyes went wide. "Wow. That's...wow." She sat down in a chair against the wall. She was glad she knew Cho well enough now to know that she'd never take that advice. "That's worse that some of my grandpa's advice."
"She means well. She just lives in a different world than we do. She hasn't had an easy life."
"She certainly doesn't seem to have any experience in marrying for love," Hannah said, and then she pressed her lips together to hold back all the things she wanted to tell Cho. She trusted her as much as anyone now--after all, she knew almost (but not quite) all of her secrets--but in order to explain things properly, she'd have to start at the beginning. Which she just wasn't willing to admit to.
"Do you think they had an arranged marriage?" Cho asked.
