It was sort of valid. Clint wasn't intending on adding to the number of people who were cycling through their lives, not if he could help it, but things happened and shit seemed to just pile up. It'd be sensible to know just what this place had in store for people.
"Maybe, over time." If Clint had learned anything from all the SHIELD testing units and the experiments that they were sent off to break up from time to time, it was that you couldn't trust a single line of results. What happened once might not happen twice, and it might not happen the same. They'd already seen some differences in how people came back or when they came back, and sometimes if they came back at all.
It made working out any pattern rather difficult. It also made it hard to figure out how to manage such a thing. Personal dislike aside, there would likely be some kind of backlash from anything. Maybe not today, or even next week, but eventually.
That was if the town itself didn't get all uppity about it all.
"Which does mean that anything we do, anything we find out could change next week, or hell, tomorrow."
