Sunglasses wasn't something that Reid was very accustomed to wearing, but lately he had been experiencing severe migraines, and cutting down the amount of light that reached his eyes did help. But this place was far from sunny, and he thought he could take the chance of taking off the sunglasses to speak with Kenzi. It was polite, after all.
Spencer pushed the glasses to the top of his head, and squinted slightly when the dull sun hit his eyes. There wasn't a sharp pain associated with it, however, and that was a welcome relief. "I never got on Facebook at home," he admitted freely. "I don't even have an email account." Reid was old-school when it came to his intelligence, the polar opposite of Garcia who was the most tech savvy person he knew. Spencer preferred books and libraries, preferred writing out letters with a pen on paper rather than typing out long emails. Technology had advanced the world, but Spencer did not go along with it.
"So uh, mind if I ask what happened?" His curious nature would not let something like an eye patch go unmentioned. And her quip about a pirate coronation seemed like conversation bait to get him to ask more. And it worked. "Are you a pirate? Because there's a short list of female pirates in historical records, and the name Kenzi was not among them."
