On the one hand Ben understood Leslie's frustrations. Yes, the battle with demons and the portal had been... utterly terrifying and heart stoppingly scary, but it'd also been a bit of an adrenaline rush after the fact, at least once he'd stopped panicking it had been. Leslie wasn't the sort to sit back and do nothing, Ben knew that first hand. But he was absolutely resolute on not going out into that town to try and find some trouble. She might not be at the same place he was with matters, but he'd made vows to protect and cherish, even against her own insane ideas.
As much as he didn't like this place, just like he hadn't really like Pawnee that much at first, he understood that there wasn't really an option in staying. So it meant helping Leslie find purpose, and if needed finding out who these scientists were and getting her a waffle iron. "Okay, so..." putting the book to the side, Ben shifted to give Leslie his attention, "something productive, that helps people, that isn't going to end in potential dismemberment?" If she was at a loss, okay, they'd find her something to do.
"I take it you've not heard back from the Mayor about tidying up the park and things?" Really, it made sense that Leslie went about the park and town first.
