Tommy's reassurance was enough to shake any of those instinctual fears. A fault to Loki, perhaps, to crave trust and support so much he would cast away even logic for it. Oh well.
A slight surge was a bit of an understatement, but nothing that Loki wasn't expecting. He was giving them his energy and that was definitely going to leave him feeling drained. The machine was more powerful than he took it, grimacing a bit at the pull and focusing on channeling the energy of his magic along with Tommy's insulating, no damaging them in the process.
Eyes widening in delight at the sight of the tear, he squinted to try and determine it's location. Nowhere he yet recognized. "Looking good so far, not to rush but..I'm on limited supply here."
He didn't want to seem the weenie but Marrowood had left him particularly dry in terms of magical energy and he didn't want to wait until he'd passed out on the ground before giving enough warning.
