They knew nothing at all other than what the cards were that they could play. And Jefferson was trying to work around the best hand.
The fact was it would take a week until he could get the hat to set and properly fixed for Emma to work her magic. On that note, she'd need time to try and figure out her magic, and who knew how long that'd take. They had no source of anything for that time. Clearly, this woman was in need of help, whatever or whomever she was. If Jefferson was anything he was confident. For whatever reason if his skills weren't to her liking, then he knew he could bullshit his way through just about anything.
"A full week even in business days is more than enough to compensate for what's here." He said firmly, pointing to the basket, keeping his tone even and firm. Making deals weren't as easy for him as they used to be seeing as he'd been let down the past few times. The anxiety boiling in his stomach never touched the surface of Jefferson's adamant return. "I'll do one week. But we get the supplies now, I start tomorrow, and you compensate me with money for the rest of that work."
