Leslie wouldn't call herself a lush, but who was she kidding? She did like the drink even if she didn't indulge in it very often. Maybe that's why it was so dangerous when she did because she'd let herself go off the deep end, and drown in the alcohol-y goodness. Mmmmmm....
But she couldn't let that happen here! No siree. She was in the company of a pirate, and losing her composure entirely was probably not a good idea. He was devilishly handsome, after all. Not Joe Biden handsome, but she could spend a few hours staring into those blue eyes of his. And then she found herself thinking of Ben, and all of the idiotic things that he did that she grew to like about him. They had been dating, but she had been down that road before where she was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Something was going to come along and ruin it for her, and more than likely it would be her own neurotic tendencies.
But! And this was a big but - she didn't have to worry about that in this place. She was pulled from her life and dropped here to do God knows what. She still did not know the reasons behind her kidnapping, and she feared she never would. That would eat her up inside, and she knew it.
Leslie smiled when he filled her cup, and took another sip this time. Slowly - she wanted it to last while she spoke at least. "Well, I just think people need to work to their strengths, you know? I don't know how organized things are around here, but we need to make teams, sub-committees almost, and get cracking. No one wants to stay here, but can't we make the best of it while we are here? Why not spruce things up, or set up a festival to improve people's spirits. Moral... there needs to be more morale. Sure, life is gonna knock us down, but that's not the point. The point is whether or not we get back up in spite of it."
