Mad Swan: Also Later
That was the million dollar question, wasn't it. Was she okay, were things okay, could she handle this on top of everything else? The short answer was no. No she wasn't okay and no she couldn't handle it and really she just wanted to hide away until it all just stopped. But she didn't have that luxury, for more than one reason really.
Really looking at things, it was a chance for some closure, some healing, some explanations that actually made some sense. Emma had a chance to finally address the fact that up until she was 28 she felt like absolutely no one wanted her at all, and a lot of that stemmed from repeated abandonment. She could work through things with Mary Margaret, so surely there was a chance to heal from Neal's abandonment?
But that didn't mean she was okay right then.
"Yeah I'm--" not alright, but she wasn't entirely sure she was terrible either, "I'm getting there?" It was a shock to the system, really. Neal just showing up. "He's... He's Henry's father." The network thing she would be surprised if Jefferson didn't know about, because the place was so small that surely everyone knew when someone else turned up.
But Emma hadn't actually told anyone about Henry's father before. Not even Mary Margaret. Or Henry when he'd asked. "He's... it was a bit of a surprise."
