Leslie never had a problem committing to organizations or rallies or any of the thousands of projects she often had on her plate. Amazingly Leslie had managed to always give one-hundred percent to her projects, and she usually did that by sacrificing sleep. She had trained herself long ago to survive on three to four hours of sleep a night. It really was the best way for her to keep peak production.
She smiled over at Mary Margaret, and resisted the urge to just reach across the table to grab her shoulders and ask "WHY NOT!" Instead she nodded slowly, and shrugged her shoulders.
"Oh yeah, I totally understand," Leslie said even though she didn't. She couldn't see why anyone would NOT want to work on a committee that would dedicate itself to making the town better. But then again Leslie had a hard time understanding anyone that didn't think along the lines she did. She sighed deeply though, and reached across the table to hold Mary Margaret's hands.
"I do understand. You're very lucky to have people you know here." It was a harsh reminder that she didn't have anyone, and was desperately looking for someone to cling to. She released her new friend's hands, and pulled back. "I do hope we get out of here. Would be nice to go back home. Guess we'll just wait and see."
