Mary Margaret sighed, sitting back in her chair. "You make a very good point. And, I must say, for as many that have disappeared, the majority of us that arrived early are still here." It was depressing to think about, but if their goal was to make things easier for those that arrived by having a council in place that could lead them in the right direction, then it only made sense that those that had suffered in this hell hole the longest be the ones that ran it.
"I think that volunteering may be for the best." She said eventually, nodding. "Turning this town into a full-fledged democracy just seems like it's asking for trouble. There are two many other factors to consider." Like the fact that any percieved control one might think that they have could be turned on its head in an instant. Best not to waste time on elections if volunteers could be found.
