I am the slowest EVAR!
Leslie was pushy. It was how she had been growing up and all her adult life. She didn't like the word "no" and didn't like to be given roadblocks in endeavors. She would push until something gave, and then push more. It was how things got done in her department. She was lucky that Ron gave her so much leeway despite her being only the Deputy Director. She practically ran the place, to be honest, and Ron never complained one bit.
"You're absolutely right, Mary Margaret," Leslie answered with a bright smile. It was so nice to have someone on the same page with her, and she was instantly put at ease. That didn't mean she was going to stop trying to impress her new friend, but there was less pressure about it all.
"I've found that most people are anti-change. They're scared of it. Afraid of what it'll do to their routine, and they're so focused on that fear that they don't even realize that the change is good for them." Leslie sighed a little, and shook her head. People were sometimes so blissfully unaware, but she supposed that made their lives easier to live.
"Well I'll have to come to Storybrooke and visit your diner after you visit mine. Pawnee is wonderful, though. You might never want to leave if you come. Do you have a lot of family in Storybrooke? Have you lived their your whole life? What's it like?"
Leslie's enthusiasm for other towns was only because she wanted to hear about the competition. Pawnee was the greatest, but the name Storybrooke was really catchy. She'd have to get ahead of the game if she wanted to beat them in terms of best town that ever existed.
