"No," Thor said, gripping his hammer tighter, "we most certainly are not alone." He used one hand to balance the young girl out after she crashed against him. "And it is, as you have said, very bad."
He could just barely make out the sound of something moving, but it was fast--nearly as fast as Thor. Although he doubted that he was really all that fast in this place. He put his hand briefly on Babydoll's shoulder to steady her, waiting until he heard the noise again. This time, he threw his hammer towards where he estimated the creature would be.
It flew back to his hand, and Thor was certain as he caught it that it had not hit its target. "This creature moves quickly," he said. "We must be careful, friends."
