Jeanette & Hook
With teeth that bit, she was pretty sure it could eat several somethings at once.
Jeanette wasn't entirely sure how to help -she wasn't the helping sort, not really, when you got down to it. She got other people to do things for her in return for her assistance. And that seldom ever really counted as helping, and she rarely got into fights over it all. This was completely different.
It was hard to find an opening to help, with Hook slashing and catching the monster in various places. It wasn't until the acrid stench of the beasts blood mixed with the potent smell of human blood that Jeanette was actually able to do anything. Bloodlust was a strong motivator, and as Hook dropped, the heartbeat missing entirely, Jeanette could do little but focus on stopping whatever this thing was from just digesting the pirate -did people come back if they were all chewed up?
The blows already dealt to the monster gave Jeanette enough of a target, with clawed fingers and not-quite-optimal-but-better-than-human strength she tore at the muscle and flesh, snarling low and vicious as the beast clawed into her back in retaliation before an uprooted tree branch felled the monster right into one of the previously set traps, catching the beasts head and severing it from it's shoulders.
"Huh," she was covered in blood, not even in the 'good end to a party' sort of way either, it was horrid, stale and smelled like decaying deer. "This is possibly the single most disgusting thing I've done since being born." Because she was covered in someone else's blood then too. Not that Hook responded. Being dead and all. Shame, really. They had that in common now and they couldn't even bond over it. "It's probably just as well I can't see you. All ripped to ribbons and splayed on the dirty ground, probably not the best look for you. Too pretty and everything." Sighing out air she didn't need Jeanette stepped over Hook's body, "Oops, sorry," standing on his hand which was mean because he only had one and sheesh, she needed to watch where she put her heels.
It took a little doing, but eventually, Jeanette managed to attach some of the trap settings to the monsters ankles, securing it's head to it's body with Hook's sword through it, and then wrapping the bindings around her wrist before binding Hook's wrist to his hook and proceeding to drag both the monster's body and Hook towards the surprisingly close blue light aura.
"This'll be funny later," she wasn't sure why she bothered, but fundamentally it seemed best, "like when you're alive again, and I'm not covered in wretched blood that makes me want to bleach myself like a catholic school girl after watching some porn. It'll be funny. Like, hey, remember that time we went into the woods and you got flayed and then I dragged you through the woods, oh shit sorry, mind you head. It'll be a story to tell, and we'll laugh and I'll punch your shoulder and hopefully none of these knocks will result in brain damage. Or more of it."
The trees thinned out, which was a real blessing because holy crap dragging a body and a big gorilla thing was a nightmare on an empty stomach. "If you were nicer, you would've bled more. Rather than wasting it on the sodden ground." Jeanette just tutted, carrying on trudging towards the blue, which she'd managed to decipher as the town when the lights became actual lights and not a general aura. "Hey, look at that, we were heading in the right direction, go figure."
