Jeanette & Hook
Killian attempted to keep calm, to keep his heartbeat steady - he wasn't afraid, exactly, because what he feared wasn't death. What he feared wasn't being torn limb from limb - no, it all went much deeper than that, and the Captain personally had a list of regrets miles long that he likely wouldn't ever get to atone for. A list that was as gnarled and twisted as he felt sometimes. But then again, maybe being trapped in Marrowood was affording him the opportunity to suffer adequately.
And he quite knew he was going to be clobbered. Still, he didn't balk - his brand of foolhardy bravery could be commended, at any rate. "Never been one to go down without a fight," he informed Jeanette. "Perhaps with the both of us, we'd stand a chance."
He picked up the pace a little, thinking it would be in their best interest to hurry. "Suppose we'll find out, at any rate."
