Velma's methods were usually less tangent, she saw things easier with her mind rather than writing it all down, clues that added up, steps towards answers, people and things and places that could link back and forward through senses rather than the tangible link show in front of her. Mind maps she liked for school, for work, for memorising things. For figuring things out, she preferred to fully throw herself into the work.
"As you likely know the devices the town gave us are systematically attached to their own network, this is impossible to hack into or out of, I've tried numerous times, I can't even get into the system coding of the device in any manner at all." It was like it was made with entirely different technology, which was entirely possible considering the worlds. "However, it's not impossible to link up another network to the devices, it's slightly more difficult and reliability is iffy at best, however with a router shell, transmitters from scraps found in attics and a small but fairly constant electrical charge, I've managed to piggy back whatever system is now transmitting to the televisions and created a small hub similar to a wifi station."
It was fairly crude really, the hub itself looked like her third grade potato zapper built from an old radio, microwave and pringles box. "It has a one hundred yard range, which is basically just the main town when I leave it in the shop, but it's better than nothing." Anything was.
"If you give me your device I can wire you in, but it's too unstable to connect too many devices just yet, I've still to work out a back-up system so that the information isn't likely to crash. I should be able to work out a server system onto a portable drive."
