"Muggles...?" There was a bit of confusion in her voice, "What's a muggle?" A lot of what she said made sense, but there was that term again. Muggle. It must be a type of person, but what type of person? Lavender's world sounded interesting, and Daenerys wondered exactly what she was missing by living in the Known World. This place had cars, Lavender's world had magic - a different type of magic. One that involved enchanting inconspicuous items to magically transport you somewhere else. A place that had giant smoking trains and magical airplanes that flew in the sky without wings.
"The Ministry of Magic... do you suppose they know that you're here?" It sounded like a type of religion. A Ministry. Perhaps Lavender's world was a place run by religion. She knew a few countries in the Known World that were run based off religion. Daenerys didn't necessarily believe in that. Targaryen's relied on the power of the dragons and the old Gods. New religions were always popping up in Essos, where Free Men were allowed to practice and believe whatever they wanted. They weren't controlled by the seven Kingdoms in Westeros.
Dany listened carefully to what Lavender said next. Violet eyes widened at the very thought, "That is barbaric!" Glancing at the candle, she watched the flame flicker in the drafty library. She's been wanting to test her immunity here, but it was a flawed idea. If she was immune to fire, she would not burn, but it was the potential that she might not be immune to fire here that kept her from testing it. "We don't burn people at the stake for being magic users, Maegi or warlocks." Daenerys shook her head and looked at Lavender.
"Depending on their skills, some hold very powerful seats in certain countries. The land of Essos is littered with colonies who are healers, illusionists, magic users, warlocks. It depends on the magic they wield that determines if they are dangerous or not. A priestess, a woman, a Maegi who used blood magic against me. She admitted so. I burned her at my husband's pyre. The same one I walked in to and hatched my dragons from." There was a slight twitch at the corners of her lips. She didn't know if she said that with pride, or sadness. The loss of Khal Drogo was devastating, but the arrival of her dragons and her rebirth as a true khalessi gave her a new purpose and command.
