"In theory, a book could be a Portkey, but they're usually items that don't draw much attention. Once I had a Portkey that was a broken umbrella. See, we don't want the muggles to pick it up on accident, so we make them out of useless items. I doubt there are any here, though," Lavender said, frowning slightly. "They're usually only issued by the Ministry of Magic and it's quite advanced magic. Most of my magic has been acting a little funny, so there's no way I'd be able to enchant one myself."
It was oddly comforting to hear about the dangers Dragons presented in Dany's home land. Even if they were from different places, it seemed that some experiences were universal. Well, not really considering how rare they were in Dany's world and that apparently dragon blood was inside her. How very strange. Lavender hadn't heard of many witches or wizards mating with non-human creatures, though you did get a half giant from time to time -- look at Hagrid!
"Did you say immune to fire? You probably didn't know, but many many years ago, before magical people in my world went into hiding, there used to be witch hunts. They would try to burn us alive to see if we were real witches. Only, if we burned, turned out we was innocent all along. Bit of a flawed plan, in my opinion. Do things like that ever happen in your world?"
