WHO: Daenerys Targaryen & OTA. WHERE: The library. WHEN: Tuesday evening. WHAT: Dany wants to figure out what a "car" is. WARNINGS: TBD. PG; for now.
A Car.
A mode of transportation that runs on magic called an "engine" without a horse, nor sentient being pulling it.
This sounded so strange to Dany, so strange that she found her herself making her way to the library to see what she might be able to dig up about a Car. A lit candle guided her through the dimming streets as the sun disappeared over the horizon of trees. Dusk would soon leave this town in the haze of the streetlights. Dany wanted to make it to the library before the shadows grew even larger in the dying light. Fingers grasped at her skirt as she made her way up the steps to the library making sure the ends didn't get tangled under her feet. Typically, the Meereen Queen wouldn't dare venture far from her room at the Sleep Hollow, but her curiosity got the better of her. She would have ventured down to HISS Station to see this Car with her own eyes, but she wanted to know more about it, before possibly putting herself in danger by going to see The Car on her own. The woman who mentioned The Car sounded nervous and the fact that it was causing such a stir in the small town, Daenerys wasn't so sure if she wanted to go see this thing for herself - especially without knowing anything about it.
This place was so strange, so much more advanced than she was used to. Even the communicating device took some getting used to. Never did she think she would be hearing voices from a small piece of technology that rested in the palm of her hand. The Known World seemed so behind in comparison to this town. Pushing the door open to the library, Daenerys stepped in and was greeted by a woman behind a desk. She approached the woman cautiously, she looked like she was sleep - or dead. She had a blank stare, pallor complexion and didn't move when Dany approached her. The Queen's violet gaze narrowed on the woman as she asked where books on Cars were. The ghostly librarian pointed in the direction of the stacks labelled TRANSPORTATION. Daenerys thanked the woman quietly and took her candle and headed for the shelves.
Fingers dragged over the spines of the books as she searched the titles for something that might answer her burning question of what A Car was. She finally pulled out a rather large tome with a title that read: MODERN TRANSPORTATION; Cars, Trains and Airplanes, 1945ed. Tucking the book under her arm, she stepped out from the stacks and moved to the nearest table. Placing the candle down on the table, she took a seat and placed the book before her. Fingers traced over the title, as her lips mouthed the words, a curious look washing over her pale features as she opened the book.
