Robert was finishing some final adjustments on the devices they intended to use on their hospital excursion the next night. He was anxious, wanting nothing more than to find answers regarding this place they had stumbled upon. He and his sister had settled into a routine easily enough that others might have thought they had begun to think of this place as home. In truth, Robert did not feel that he had a home, not anymore at least. Since the time Rosalind had broken the barrier between worlds and pulled him through he had lost his home, and his reality. He could have gone back if he wanted, but at the time he found that he could do so much more with his sister and traveling as they did from one reality to another.
But now there was not even that. There was no movement amongst the realities, and the most they could hope for (according to Elizabeth) was opening a tear from one place in Marrowood to another. That would be the first step, he decided, to find a local tear and then turn it into something more.
There was so much work to be done, but when time mattered not to the physicist he was not pressured to finish one project over another. Robert had momentarily risen from his seat to get a drink from the kitchen when he heard knocking at the front door. Curious, he opened the front door and found a petite blonde haired woman standing there.
"Robert Lutece," was his initial response. He held out his hand to her in greeting. "How may I assist you?"
