Robert was not used to seeing the pink pony so sad, and he was surprised that it bothered him that she was. He eyed her curiously, his own blue eyes mirroring hers, though his did not sparkle so brightly. He felt that he did not want to let her down, but he lacked the social practice of expressing that to the pink-haired girl. Looking at her, and the expression on her face, Robert had a hard time imagining her as a pony. He did not think that ponies were capable of such emotion.
"If it were easy then Rosalind and I would have no motivation to keep moving forward with our research," he said in an attempt to cheer up the girl. He looked down at her hand as she grasped onto his fingers, and to be perfectly honest he was not quite sure how to react to it. The sensation was pleasant, and he felt a warmth growing from the small gesture, but this was not something he was used to. He offered up a small smile.
"The town is interesting for certain, and it is yet unclear as to why any of us are here. But we will eventually get to go home. A system can only stay in stasis so long as there are no forces pushing against it, and trust me when I say Rosalind and I intend to push until it gives. It is the law of the universe."
