[sorry about the delay!]
Pinkie had such a bright outlook on life despite being in such a dreary place. Her personality matched her hair, and he wondered if perhaps in her world one's outer beauty was a reflection of what they possessed in their heart. Robert imagined that studying her world would have been interesting - talking ponies and the like. What would they think of him, he wondered.
She had, in addition to her happy demeanor, quite a good memory when it came to facts she had read about. Her recollection of the dimensions she had read about was accurate, though what Robert was focused on was her enthusiasm about it all. Though he heard her words he was captivated more by the sparkle in her eyes. How wonderful it must have been to be so in awe of the world around them. "Infinite possibilities and outcomes I have witnessed," he finally said as he rounded about his work bench. "Realities and outcomes change all due to a single point in time. Fascinating really."
Robert saw that her smile faltered, and he thought again of Elizabeth and how he (and Rosalind) had failed her. She had that same look that Pinkie was now giving him, and he approached her with a few long strides, and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Worry not, Miss Pie," he said. "We shall, as ever, be cautious." He smiled at her this time trying desperately to reassure her. He did not want Pinkie of all people (ponies?) to lose hope. She was the light in this dank place.
