Speedy delivery pony indeed. They had only spoken about the doughnuts briefly, and before Robert knew it there she was at the lab with the treats in tow. He smiled at the bright-haired girl, musing once more over the fact that she was truly a pony in her other world. He wondered if she missed being four-legged and hooved, or if she preferred her human form. He would not ask, however, such ponderings were meant only for the inside of his mind. Unlike Rosalinda, Robert did have some sense of propriety.
"All night," he asked her. "It would seem that you are as dedicated to your sweets as Rosalind and I are dedicated to science." That was a compliment in Robert's eyes, though how Pinkie took it remained to be seen. He did notice that she seemed more anxious than usual (in a good way, of course), as she kept peeking around his shoulder. Robert arched a brow at her, and then once more held a hand out for her.
"You may look around, if you wish," he said to her. "Rosalind and I have worked very hard, but we are not quite done. There is still much to do. Time to work in order to get back to our time... and space. The fourth dimension is indeed a mystery..." He was rambling now, off in his own world of thoughts and equations. He paused by one of the work benches, and began to write down his ideas in the notebook that was there.
He was brought out of his reverie at Pinkie's question. It was answered (mostly) by a quick nod of his head. "The hospital," he added. For Robert it wasn't about being brave. It was doing what needed to be done. Life had no room for irrational things like fear. Fear was created because of the unknown, and thus Robert and Rosalind's journey to unmask the unknown. They feared very little even in this strange place.
