Her excitment at the opportunity to share that day with the others was still potent, but she couldn't help but be aware of the apprehension that had settled into the room as well. While everyone else regarded James as somewhat of a wildcard, it was clear that he had the same feelings when it came to all of them. She didn't doubt that he'd find a way to 'protect' Jefferson, should he feel that any of them were threats.
It was with that thought that she disregarded any notion she'd had of greeting him with a hug, and instead moved across the room and toward her daughter. "Well, I still need to sit this ice down, so why I don't help you?"
