one, two, three, four WHO:Emma Swan & Jefferson & Ruby Lucas & Mary Margaret Blanchard & Stiles Stilinski & Bucky Barnes; aka the OUAT group and their adoptees. WHERE: Ruby & Emma's apartment WHEN: August 10th WHAT: The culmination of 'dinner' plans; which means chaos in the kitchen, sitting room and home. WARNINGS: So. Many. People. Ahem; fluff, confusion, Ruby, MadSwan, Mom Feels, James being confused, Stiles, Stiles & Ruby, Poor James. JUST A LOT OF STUFF IS LIKELY OKAY!
The plan had been a nice dinner. Just their family. Bonding really, since Emma knew for sure that Ruby was still half blaming herself, and honestly, Emma needed to know that Jefferson wasn't vanishing into the background again. Just being around helped. Not to mention they hadn't actually sat down as a group to just be, and with Marrowood, taking the chance when they could made sense.
But Emma had forgotten just how much they'd grown. It was just her, Jefferson and Ruby anymore. It wasn't even like they were just adding Mary Margaret to it either. They'd somehow managed to adopt Stiles into their group, and Jefferson's connection to James just meant it would be cruel and unusual to leave him out. So they were bigger than before, and Emma half worried about fitting into the apartment before Ruby rolled her eyes and they shifted the table to the main room and shoved the sofa into the corner.
They'd make do.
Ruby had gone out to get supplies; which meant alcohol and snacks. Because they had what they'd need for Jefferson to make the pasta and chicken and Emma was still giving Ruby stick about that. She wasn't that bad a cook. Hopefully, Ruby'd be gone a while, since Emma squared everything up, still a tiny bit anxious because she was mostly aware that there was something there with Jefferson, and Mary Margaret knew it. Which, okay, not ideal, but she'd cope with it. Surely.
But worrying about it wouldn't get the table set so that when everyone showed up later they'd actually have somewhere to sit and eat, so Emma put it aside and got down to sorting things out until Jefferson showed up to cook what they'd eat and the others dropped by later.
Just a casual family dinner... With some friends. Sort of.
