Booker knew long before he got to the church that not being able to find or hear from Elizabeth by now was possibly the worst sense of panic he'd felt in his life. Making his way along the path, he recalled running up the way to the Comstock house, trying to avoid the Songbird, dreading what he'd find them doing to her. At least then he'd known where she was. He knew what he was taking on--at least an inkling, one mutated Columbia bastard was the same as any other.
Yet there was just a sinking feeling at the bottom of his gut. If she hadn't contacted or returned to him by now...there were no Comstocks to siphon her power away. It only meant the worst.
That wasn't about to prevent him from using every last fiber of his energy and power to find her. Booker would never give up, not on Elizabeth. He was going to find her come hell or high water. He only hoped, for the sake of this goddamned town, that he found her sooner rather than later. Booker Dewitt made good on his threats.
As he came to the front of the very obliviously condemned religious building, he couldn't help but notice the lack of doorknob on the handle, or lack of wear on the steps were there should have been activity. He decided to wait just a moment longer in case this Doctor or any others who offered to help look showed up.
