While Velma was more than well versed in mystery, in scary stories and haunted towns, this one was decidedly different from anything else she'd been prone to in years. For one thing, she had no gang. Fred and Daphne and even poor Shaggy and Scooby, missing from the town, leaving her to figure this one out herself.
She'd maybe not realised until then just how much she relied on the team to bounce ideas off of. She had no one to split up with and look for clues, so she was doing a lot of it herself, looking for clues and taking notes and following the device for information on people and places they came from. It was difficult to figure out all the patterns on her own.
With this latest mystery within the mystery, Velma had taken to researching aside from the group that had already been working on things, Velma wanted to learn anything she could to figure out if maybe one of them had missed something.
She'd been lost back in the stacks, arms filled with books when she heard noise at the front of the library. Creeping forward, Velma was cautious, in case it was whatever was doing this. After all, Elizabeth had been missing for a few days now, what if the thing was back to snatch someone else?
Peering around the corner, Velma felt her breath leave her in a heavy, relieved sigh, "Oh gracious," it was just another resident, as far as she could tell, "I thought you were something else." With her arms filled with books, she couldn't nudge her glasses up like she needed to, giving a tight, tense smile. "Can I help you?"
