"Ah, that's awful nice of you," Atlas said. He took the offered candy, snapping it in half easily. If beating a girl's head in was no trouble, breaking candy was like snapping his fingers. "I'll have to return the favour."
He handed one half of it back toward her. "I'd hate to take all of it, see, but I appreciate you giving me part of it." He smiled at her, expression as sincere as you like. "I'll have to bring you lunch or something." He took a bite of the offered candy. Well, he had one person who believed him without a doubt. Good to know.
