They were right when they said WHO: Elizabeth and Booker WHERE: The Library WHEN: After Stiles leaves, here, and Elizabeth's conversation with Sawyer WHAT: Booker notes Elizabeth's strange behavior and confronts her on it WARNINGS: Angst. Anger. It's the Dewitts, they're not happy people.
There was no denying that something was off about Elizabeth long before she started extending her strange behaviors to the complete strangers she'd been nothing but sugar to up until now. When she'd been so occupied in her thoughts to cut herself, slip in her words, it revealed the worry of something that she was keeping from Booker.
Whatever it was had to be pretty damned sketchy if she was thinking she could go on lying, least of all fleeing the library without saying. When she was little miss 'don't leave without your phone' to him when he'd tried to go on without the thing.
Booker tried dialing her several times, sending those god forsaken text messages that took way longer to get ahold of someone rather than just sending the call. And she'd ignored every last one.
Needless to say when she finally did come around to showing her face back at the library, he'd already reassembled his guns, collected his ammo, and was ready to go looking for her. Pulling on all of his compassion and the understanding that he'd neglected to learn at a much earlier state in his life, Booker tried, at first, to push some of his aggravation to the side.
He was mildly successful. "You ready to tell me what the hell is going on?"
