Thread: The Doctor & Rose
WHO: The Doctor & Rose Tyler
WHERE: Somewhere in the streets and then... wherever they end up
WHEN: Shortly after the air raid siren
WHAT: Rose goes out to explore after the siren sounds and runs into the person she's been looking for
WARNINGS: Probably monster gore and violence? Lots of over exuberance? I'll add to this if anything changes.
It probably wasn't the wisest move ever, but once Rose heard the sirens her first instinct was to investigate. Probably due to too much time in the T.A.R.D.I.S. More likely due to time with the Doctor. Maybe he'd smile if he realized how much he'd rubbed off on her in their time together. Hopefully he would. Though, the thin hope she'd had back in the alternate dimension was almost completely fading now that she was in this crazy place with no sign of Torchwood. Working with the Torchwood team at least made Rose feel like she was doing something to get back home. Here, instead of feeling like she was moving forward, working towards a goal, she felt trapped. Even more so after her father had grabbed her and saved her from a fate of being stuck between dimensions. Even more so when the Doctor and his blue box (bigger on the inside!) had faded away at Bad Wolf Bay. But if she couldn't find the Doctor, if she couldn't find a way back to him, she was going to find a way to help the other people. The people who wanted help anyway. Rose had the distinct impression that there were a number of them that didn't want to be helped. And a number of them who were fully capable of helping themselves. Though she wondered about Amy. If Amy had traveled with the Doctor, though, she must know how to fend for herself. Out on the street it wasn't long before she caught sight of what was arguably one of the most horrific things she'd ever seen. Horrific in a gory, graphic way. Daleks and Cybermen still ranked up there as the most terrifying aliens she'd experienced. The thing walked on two legs but on top of those legs... she thought it was a torso. A torso with another set of legs. And the sheer wrongness of it stopped her dead in her tracks, frozen like a deer caught in headlights. Her mind still couldn't quite wrap itself around what she was seeing. And that was saying something, considering all the things she had seen in the past. Rose was vaguely aware that her breath caught in her throat as the creature turned to look at her. Run, Rose, run. At least her subconscious was still working. And, for an instant, she was reminded of Nine. "Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life!" That memory shook her out of her paralysis and she turned on her heel and took off, looking for a place to turn off and watching, undetected, while the monster passed by. |
