Lisa barely managed to avoid hitting the same rusted piece of pipe the other woman found with her face; her foot caught the angled end of it, turning the ankle and wringing a quick growly yelp from the back of her throat. It'd gotten that dark, that quick- and now she was terrified and limping.
And what the fuck were the noises coming from their right?
"I can't even see the damn sidewalk-!" Lisa rasped, hopping on her good foot while testing weight on the other one. She reached out for the vague shape that had a woman's voice next to her, grabbing what had to be a forearm. "Hang on- Let me see if.."
The noises were getting closer; inhuman groaning that sounded like a mix of pain and insanity muffled by something over the mouth. Lisa fished her phone from her back pocket and with shaking fingers brought it to life- it's light barely penetrated the space between it and her hand.
