Damon watched the two of them eyeing the cake. At one time, he would have considered them to be his meals, but he had more control, and Elena kept his humanity firmly on. It really was for her that he held himself together. Instead, he looked the cakes over, deciding on the vanilla one. When he was properly fed, his body functioned fairly normally, although it did nothing for him. Vampires still enjoyed the taste.
He didn't know who the guy with the bow-tie was either. He called himself 'The Doctor', but he wasn't like a normal doctor. He certainly favored more color than Damon, with his array of black. Damon didn't look like a Demon, but he was pretty sure that he was one of the only vampires here, other than Elena. "Hey," he nodded, "The reason for the upside down cake is that pineapple is fairly heavy. It would sink into the batter. It also keeps the pineapple cooked, and locks the juice in." In spite of his nature, Damon was a decent cook. He came by it fairly naturally, even after being a vampire for the last 150 years.
