"Coffee, eh?" He had to admit, if he was going to be stuck here, the knowledge that there was coffee would at least make the hell-hole a little less hellish. He hadn't had decent coffee in a while; it was hard to find beneath that much water, and it wasn't like he could have just ordered it. "I do appreciate a good bit of coffee." He let his puppyish grin fade back to a warm smile.
Winking at her, he said, "A gentleman never asks and a lady never tells." The idea that he was from far into their future was one that had struck him as being difficult, but a bit cleverer than anything else. If he was apparently much younger, the idea was that he wouldn't meet them for quite a while, and he'd be long gone by the time they hopefully realised his lie. Not that Jefferson hadn't already latched on, and he knew exactly how hard that was going to be to keep up for any great length of time. "Truth told, you're a lot more yellow-blonde than I remember." He widened his smile a bit, aiming for the effect of having his eyes crinkle a bit. "There was a bit more white when last I saw you."
He rubbed his hands together. "But! Coffee, eh? Best drink it before it goes all cold, then."
