Lavender + Millicent
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that," Lavender said, frowning. Hoping to comfort Millicent, she prattled on about she'd lost her own pet rabbit in their third year, so she could understand the pain. Pets were part of the family for most people and to lose them was hard. Animals were especially dear to Lavender's heart, having grown up surrounded by them. Her father worked for the Ministry in the Department of Magical Creatures. He mostly oversaw witches and wizards breeding their magical creatures, but every so often his department would have to confiscate animals that weren't being treated properly. The Browns' would foster animals until permanent homes could be found, which was something Lavender had always loved. "And the Niffler completely tore apart my room until he found a galleon," she said in conclusion, finishing a story about one of the pets her dad had brought home for fostering. "I was so mad and then my mum made me put my room back together all by myself."
Despite Millicent's rough exterior, it was good to know that she did have some kindness for anther creature in there. Probably buried deep down... "Okay, my second question is... What's your family like? Have the Bullstodes always been sorted into Slytherin? Do you have any siblings? What do your parents do?" Maybe if she understood where Millicent came from, it would be easier to deal with her foul mood.
