Lavender + Millicent
"When I'm tired," Millicent replied, smirking. She'd been just about to call that innocuous question one of Brown's three, so she had to give the other witch credit for catching her mistake. Plus, it was amusing to watch her get flustered over it.
The question Brown did ask drew an involuntary scowl from Millicent. Her happiest memory? Merlin, what a stupid thing to ask about. And how the hell was she supposed to pick something like that? After a few moments of silence, Millicent realized she had a bigger fucking problem -- she couldn't think of any answer. None she felt like sharing, and, anyway, the feeling never lasted. She was better at being annoyed and angry than truly happy.
"My cat," she said at last, lying. "The day I got my cat. But before you start to think that's all cute and heartwarming -- he died our sixth year, so it was fleeting."
