ain't no grave can hold my body down
WHO: Hermione Granger, Lavender Brown, Millicent Bulstrode
WHERE: Worm's Wort Cementary
WHEN: Thursday, morning
WHAT: Hermione wants to talk to a ghost
WARNINGS: bad language from Millie (at least), creepy ghost stuff, mild violence, some blood
Millicent was not easily frightened. She'd slept well, despite the ceaseless footsteps outside her hotel room door, the scratching at her window, and the invisible cat that seemed to have claimed her bed as its own. She'd spent seven years living in a dungeon, for Merlin's sake -- a bit of chain-rattling wouldn't be enough to interrupt her slumber.
The cemetery, too, was like something out of a bad ghost story. Mist lay thick on the ground, swirling amongst tombstones despite the fact that the air was completely still and windless. Now and then a faint scuff or shuffling sounded from somewhere in the depth of the graveyard, its source unknown. The shambling dead, probably.
Whatever.
There was no sign of Granger, nor did Millicent expect there to be. The bushy-haired witch was reckoned to be brave, but out of her depth like this? Without her male companions? She'd stay safe and sound, holed up in that hotel, resting on her laurels or whatever the fuck she'd called them.
Leaning against the ancient tree by the entrance to the cemetery, Millicent pulled a cigarette from within the pack in her jacket, lighting the tip with her wand. She'd wait however long it took her to finish smoking, then she was moving the fuck on.
